Tolling is coming to the SR 520 bridge in spring 2011. Anyone who walks, know that transit is a key part of extending your trip. Take advantage of the new bus service, which will provide better connections between the communities on both sides of the lake.All-electronic tolling on the SR 520 bridge will help manage traffic flow and raise funds for improvements to make the bridge safer. Starting on Saturday, October 2, 2010 new service on Routes 255, 265, 271  and the new Route 542 between Redmond, the UDistrict and Green Lake, will provide attractive options for those wanting to try a different way of crossing the lake.SR 520 currently has no pedestrian or bicycle access across Lake Washington, but bicyclists and transit riders can ride all King County Metro and Sound Transit buses for free between Montlake and Evergreen Point.  Learn more about the SR 520 ride free pilot project.More service will be added in February 2011, and Metro will also be making improvements to bus stops and Park & Ride lots.Learn more about the new transit service here and get up to speed on the new tolling project.
