Kubota Garden Artist in Residence Continues Summer Walk Series

Individuals are invited to attend fun and engaging Art Walks led by Kubota Garden Artist in Residence and Feet First Neighborhood Walking Ambassador Mary Magenta. The popular Kubota Garden Art Walks series began in early summer, and will continue through the fall with the first walk beginning on Sunday, November 11.

As a Feet First Neighborhood Walking Ambassador, Mary promotes safer, more walkable communities by leading neighborhood walks inviting groups to connect with their surroundings and share knowledge while improving personal and environmental health. In addition to being a Feet First Neighborhood Walking Ambassador and the Artist in Residence at Kubota Garden, Mary is a trained Kubota Garden docent and enthusiastic volunteer. Her knowledge of the Garden’s history and of Japanese garden culture combined with her skill and experience as an artist provides a unique perspective of this beautiful community park in Rainier Beach to the many local residents who join her walks.

While Mary has been visiting Seattle to paint for years, she decided relocate here permanently earlier this year. “I love being with people,” Mary says, “and being a Feet First Neighborhood Walking Ambassador in my favorite park allows me to meet and interact with fabulous folks from all over–and to share my deep appreciation for the sanctuary that is Kubota Garden.”
