Feet First has joined the Streets for All Seattle campaign, a long-term effort to improve the transportation environment in Seattle for pedestrians, cyclists, and transit riders.
The overall list of transportation needs in Seattle is large and daunting. In addition to the pedestrian improvements listed above, it includes filling future shortfalls in Metro Transit finances, improving transit on the west side of the city to complement Sound Transit Link, sustaining the clean and quiet electric trolley bus network, building new and improved arterials to complement the SR-99 project and a new Magnolia Bridge, providing better pavement maintenance, and implementing the Bicycle Master Plan. The revenue needed for these transportation improvements is substantial. For this reason, Feet First urges you to support the Streets for All Seattle campaign aimed to identify new revenue sources. Specifically, we encourage City Council to consider implementation of a vehicle license fee, which would raise millions of dollars for transportation improvements. The revenue needed for these transportation improvements is substantial.
