Contractor Needed to assist with writing and graphic design
Feet First is hiring a contractor to assist with writing and graphic design to formalize materials used for walk to school campaigns.
This project must be completed by June 20th. The total budget for this project is $5,000. Travel to meetings will be the responsibility of the contractor.
Deliverable Requested:
Create a guide called: “How to
Develop a Safe Routes to School Encouragement Campaign At Your School”.
The goal is to incorporate walk to school campaign materials into an
easy-to-use reference guide. (This is not a comprehensive Safe Routes to School
guide, but rather complement to the materials currently available.) The
material is to be provided to interested people developing school based
programs.
Material from contractor will be provided in InDesign files and digital format producible for print and web. All material produced is the copyright of Feet First.
The guide’s content will consist of Microsoft Word documents already created and in use by Feet First. The goal of this project is to strengthen messaging and unify the look of pre-existing materials. Materials provided by Feet First to be incorporated into the guide include:

- Walk to school campaign fliers
- Walk to school campaign newsletter article template

More
about Safe Routes to School:
There is a wealth of personal and societal
benefit in the simple practice of walking to school. In the past 30 years, active commuting has
quietly taken second place to car culture, and today a mere 13% of children arrive
at school on their own two feet. The
results are skyrocketing rates of childhood obesity, related health problems, environmental
degradation, safety and general quality of life issues, which
disproportionately affect urban poor, new immigrants and people of color.
